I have just returned from Bandung around 22:30. Arrived home safely and took a deep breath as finally I stepped my feet on the area after several cancelled plans. Thank God. I believe that the time would come. Please forgive me that I am often not patient enough to wait for Your plans.
I went there on Friday, 6 June 2008 with my friend, her husband and her father-in-law. I left the office on time at that time to catch the time. I made an appointment with her to meet her in the front of Izzi Pizza across Korindo Building around 17:00. It was Friday afternoon when so many people went home. Fortunately, the traffic was smooth that I could arrive at the meeting point on time. From there, we went to her rented room.
Our first plan was that we would go by car, but suddenly there was a problem with the car’s machine. Therefore, we went to Bandung by bus instead. We arrived at the bus station around 22:00. After around 2 hours from Jakarta to Leuwipanjang bus station in Bandung, we went to out final destination by taxi as we could not find any public transportation. We arrived at their house around 02:30 around the morning. It was very cold as the house is situated on hill. My friend’s mother-in-law warmly welcomed us and she immediately prepared foods for us who were hungry after the journey. After eating, we all slept.
I woke up at 05:30 to do dawn praying (it’s too late, but I was very sleepy). After praying, I slept again. I woke up around 07:00. I stepped into the veranda and was able to see the overall view. The house is big enough. It is located on the hill. It has four fish ponds with a hut, backyard with hardwood trees, paddy field, many kinds of flowers, and green grasses cover the front yard with two sitting place and one swing. Seeing my friend’s mother-in-law was watering the flowers, I offered a help. Well, I like this activity. Much better than cooking hahaha…I also played mini golf in the front yard. It was the time I hit the golf ball. We had lunch in the hut together. The special menu was rabbit mear, but I did not eat because I still remembered a funnily jumping rabbit. After lunch, I took a nap and then walking around the house. With the help of my friend’s relative, I took some pictures. See above. Am I a narcissist? I could not help myself not to pose in front of such beautiful background.
Our menu for dinner was spaghetti and salad. Yummy….My friend’s mother-in-law likes cooking and is really good at it. Totally there were 10 persons. We ate near the front yard. Guess…my portion was almost three times spaghetti in Pizza Hut. Pheww…I was full. Finishing the dinner, I moved to the other veranda. Seeing Bandung city from uphill. I saw the lights of the lamps were like stars while I was also seeing the real stars on the sky. I wish I had taken a picture of it, but unfortunately my digital camera could not catch the moment. I also failed to take a picture of the mountain scenery in the north – they said they are Mount Gede and Mount Pangrango – because of the weather. Fog always appeared while the sun was shining very brightly.
I was awake until around 21:00 to watch the opening of Euro 2008. I only watched around 10 minutes as I fell asleep.
On Sunday I woke up around 05:30. Our breakfast menu was fried noodle and fried rice. I ate both hehehe…I ate much more than I usually do. There were also three farm workers joined it. They looked very shyly.
After breakfast, I went to higher hill with my friend’s relative who is a student of junior high school. I challenged her to go on foot. But when I saw the street, I immediately asked her to find an ojeg. Then we could go downhill on foot later. Arriving at what she called ‘a place of interest’, I recognized it as a pine forest. We took some pictures there. When we went downhill, I finally had a chance to take a picture with a background of the mountain. I did not know the name. Well, it was not clearly visible as there were many fogs.
Arriving home, I still could not resist the beautiful around the house. I saw they were cleaning the fish pond and modify the one of the faucets. Oh ya. The water comes from the water source in the mountain, so no need any electricity and there’s plenty of water. The water which flowed through each pond finally irrigate the paddy field.
Our lunch was red rice, gudeg, eggs and chicken. After that, I saw them moved golden fish one by one from temporary pond to its original pond which had been cleaned in the morning. Then we ate ice cream. Delicious…
After lunch, we just watched TV programs and then prepared for our return to Jakarta. We left the house around 17:15 and reached Leuwi Panjang bus station by 18:30. I bought some snacks for my neighbors and friends. We left Bandung around 19:00 and arrived at Cawang around 21:10. I got off the bus and took another public transportation to my own house.
Finally I arrived home safely by 22:30. My home….
Finally I made another dream came true….
Finally I could find food for my dinner…at my neighbor…Roasted fish…. Yummy…Delicioso
Dita, thanks for the wonderful vacation (I am really ashamed as your father-in-law paid for my return transportation cost from Jakarta-Bandung-Jakarta).
